Starting a new group in NTNUI

NTNUI is continuously growing and developing, and our attitude is we wish to have as
many activities as possible. However not all activities belong under one sport society,
and a new group needs to consider the economic considerations and the capacity of the
facility for the actual training. Anyone at any time can seek to establish a group, as long
as the activity is directly relevant to the society and adheres to the rules. If the head
committee approves the application, the proposal will be continually evaluated in terms
of management and status. Group status will be awarded (a group is an independent
unit in the alliance sport team) within two years. It is NTNUIs general committee which
approves the creation of new groups.

To start a new group in NTNUI, the head committee will need information on the
following:

-A summary of the sport
-How it is relevant to the organization/society
-Competitions
-Costs
-Potential interest in the group (how many members will there be?)
-Future prospects
-Training facilities needed
-How often would you train?
-To what extent would you train?

First, please contact the head committee (Hovedstyret) if you are considering starting a
new group.
