At the annual christmas party, the 2011 awards were handed out to recognize the best rookie, the most committed player and the best player of the two rugby teams in 2011.

The girls arranged their own internal 7's game before winter and exams kicked in.

NTNUI’s girl rugby team traveled down to Oslo this week-end with 12 players for the 1rst stage of the Women NorgesCup 10s. The tournament was the occasion for no less than of 7 of our girls to first experience real rugby game.

With a record of 21 players on an away game the hopes were high before the game. However, it was an uphill battle from kickoff. The season is over and focus is shifted to 2012.

The first home game of the season was the traditional battle of the golden horse (with a wagon) against our rivals from Sunnmøre. NTNUI lifted their game from last week's flattering result and controlled the game from kickoff, maintaining their unbeaten record against Sunnmøre.

Marianne Roset and Rita Sande Rød have been selected to represent Norway in the international 7's circuit this year.

The first game of the season is always special. Unfortunately for the NTNUI team, this meant that they were not prepared for what the powerful Stavanger team threw at us. A real lesson of solid team work gave the boys a wake up call as the season kicked off.

In an epic rugby tour to Ålesund, NTNUI could raise their hands after 80 minutes. Having beaten Sunnmøre rugby 27-12 in the first 15's encounter between the two clubs, the Trondheim students could bring home the mythical Golden Horse (with a wagon). A tradition is born!
