->THE BOYS<-
The spirit was high up front, the spirit was higher during the tournament and in the third half it rose to the next level. In other words, Valhall 7's was a success, again!

The boys showed up early saturday morning to play their opponent in the "Golden Horse (with a wagon)" rivalry, Sunnmøre. This was the first official rugby action in 2011 for both teams. It showed, as both teams seemed rusty and committed numerous errors. Two evenly matched opponents, but NTNUI managed to break through and Nicolas could score the game's only try.

Unfortunately, bad luck struk Knut at Valhall once again, as he limped off with a sprained ancle less than a minute after entering the pitch. The sad man had to watch the rest of the tournament from the sideline.

The second game of the day was against Tabu Soro, the Fijian heavy artillery. NTNUI started the game with a lineup of the least experienced players. Allthough playing with passion, the score was four tries to nill at half time. In the second half, the lineup was more experienced and the half ended 1-1 in tries. The perfect season had come to an end, loss was big, but the spirit still on the rise.

Game 3 was against Blindern rugby, led by former NTNUI star Peter Samuel. The game was close with one try to each team in the first half and a tough battle between two teams wanting to win. Towards the end of the game, Blindern put two quick tries on the board and sealed the win. The loss aside, a spark had ignited a fire in the NTNUI players. The message was clear, loosing sucks - let's work harder!

The work rate was definitely there in the last game of the day, however, fitness was not. Ås relied on their fastest players to score three unanswered tries in the first half. Two more tries were quickly scored in the second half, when Alan was sent to the sin bin for ...hmmm, who knows?... Despite realizing that the game was lost, NTNUI did not fade and ended the game with two quick tries.

Resultwise, the tournament wasn't the best for the guys, but the team spirit, the commitment and the rugby passion was incredible. With Valhall declared a success, the focus shifts towards the 15's season.
